As members of a democracy we have a responsibility to educate ourselves. This is one of the reasons why in the 21st century, such a big emphasis is put on pursuing an education. The main reason is that it is seen by many as the only way to get a middle class job and live out the American dream. Unfortunately, something is not right in the education system. After six years in college, only 53 percent of students are able to graduate (Burke, 1). All students, whether they graduated or not, are ending up with enormous amounts of debt. On top of that, even the students who are graduating are struggling to find jobs and pay back their student loans. These are frightening problems that hover around the education issue and force people to ask: â€Å"What is wrong with the education system?† This is not an easy question to answer. In fact, it is unlik ely that there is just one answer to this question. The solutions could lie in early education, or possibly in college administration, or maybe even outside the education system completely.
